Chess Set
The idea for this design was to create a unique chess set using organic forms. This chess set was created to be easy to hold with many different curves and have each piece easily identifiable through the changes in shape and height from piece to piece.
Materials
There was a lot of research for the chess set on what material would be the best. The focus was what material would be more sustainable, last the longest, and would work with the theme the best.

Ideation and Process
In the ideations and process work, different ideas for each of the chess pieces were sketched out and the eventually one of each were picked. The pieces were then sculpted out of plastilina clay and any changes to the designs were made then. The final wood pieces were made out of a dowel rod and a lathe was used to shape each of the pieces, the pieces were then sanded down and finished.
