HELEN
A pressure sensitive light sensitive walker light for low lighting enviroments
Target Audience
Opportunity
A walker that is pressure-sensitive and light-sensitive. Would be used for walking in dark or dimly lit environments, it could reduce time spent walking and turning on lights. Making it pressure and light-sensitive would give the target audience control over when the light is turned on and off.

Building
The final product was made by 3D printing a white filling and a clear filling, the internals include LED light strips, the Arduino used for coding, and the power source for everything.
Helen Prototype
The Helen light works by hooking it onto any kind of walker and turning the power on. It is hooked over the bars of the walker making it easy to add to the walker. When turned on the Helen light will glow when it is in a dark or dimly lit area and someone is using the walker. The light is not needed when it is bright outside or when the walker is not in use. Using pressure sensors in the handles and a light sensor on the front of the light the Helen Light was created.
